This blog does not encourage the downloading of copyrighted music. The objective of this blog is to promote the work of artists who deserve more recognition for their musical talents. Many of the albums and artists advertised on this site will be unfamiliar to many people.
Most music lovers are familiar with Tapestry, Led Zeppelin IV, Tubular Bells, Dark Side Of The Moon, etc. The list is a long one. But have you heard "Octomuck" by Baby Mammoth, or "Maim That Tune" by Fila Brazilia, or even "Glass Lounge" by Lyn Leon? How about " Tago Mago" by Can? I would bet that a great many people are totally unfamiliar with these artists or albums.
These are quality musical compositions which deserve to be heard by more people. Unfortunately, most of this music is just not heard on mainstream TV or radio, and not everybody has access to satellite technology where it is possible to listen to every music genre.
If you like any of the music on this site, then, if possible, please try and buy the original work. The sound quality will always be superior.and you will usually get more info with sleeve / liner notes, etc. Also, check out the artists’ discographies and see what they have to offer. Real talent should never be ignored and should always be rewarded.
There are over 4,000 albums identified on this blog, so it may take you some time to check all the information, but if you do, I hope you find it a worthwhile exercise. A great deal of the info on this blog relates to some very obscure, but also some very good albums. I have tried to ensure that all the musical works listed on this blog have some musical merit. There is no rubbish posted on the blog. Many of the recordings have been transferred from vinyl, or have variations in bitrates, so sound quality will vary from album to album.
You will notice that this blog relates mostly, but not exclusively to jazz, electronica, blues, and seventies progressive rock. If you like any of these musical genres, I am sure you will discover something worthwhile.
Please post any comments you may have. Let me know if there are any problems with links. It is very difficult to check so many links on a regular basis. Another important point to remember, is that file hosts come and go. There is no such thing as a reliable host that will hold files indefinitely. Many of the files on my main site have been deleted, either because the host company has closed down, or been removed through complaints of copywright violations. It is the easiest thing in the world to report a file as being illegal or offensive. I can think of a hundred reasons why files are reported, and mostly for selfish and stupid reasons. Unfortunately, file hosting companies will take these reports seriously, and remove them at a moments notice. It's a pity that some people have nothing better to do than spoil other peoples enjoyment of music. Also, if a file is not downloaded on a regular basis, it will most likely be removed by the hoster.
I am sorry, but please do not ask for a repost of albums. Please post your requests in the comment box of my blog. It's the people there who have helped me so much in keeping this blog going.
Thanks for visiting. This blog is constantly being updated, so come back soon. This is an order from the El Supremo, Neopixeos!
